I’m still on cloud 9 from all the love & support Taylor and I have been receiving from the launch of our Holiday Guide. Thank you! These no sew fringe napkins were one of the DIYs featured on the tablescape in the guide. I wanted to share this easy DIY on the blog today because I think they would make the perfect gift for the hostess, or anyone for that matter.
Last year, finances were a bit tight for my husband and I, and we had to cut back on our gifting budget. So instead, I put my DIY skills to good use and made these homemade pot simmers for a few close friends and family. I remember handing the gifts out and apologizing for not being able to get them something “better”. But to my surprise, they loved receiving something homemade even more than a store bought gift, and were so appreciative of the time and thoughtfulness I put into it. Now, I’m always on the lookout for DIY’s that would make great gifts, and these No Sew Fringe Napkins definitely make the cut!
I’m a sucker for ticking stripe fabric (it’s so classic), but this DIY will work with any cotton or linen based fabric. And because I know time is of the essence during the holidays, the great thing about this DIY is that it only takes about 15 minutes to make! Full instructions below:
Supplies
1 yard of cotton or linen fabric ( 1 yard makes 4 napkins)
Scissors
Stop fraying adhesive
Instructions
1.Cut fabric into desired napkin size (mine are 18×18).
2.Start on one side and start pulling threads so the edges begin to fray
3.Continue to pull threads (lengthwise and crosswise) until you have about 1/2inch of fringe. Trim any uneven fringe, if necessary
4.Apply a small amount of Stop Fraying adhesive to the corners of the napkins
